Infectious and non-infectious. Infectious diseases are caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Their common name is pathogens. These can enter the body through the air we breathe, the food we eat and drink we consume, or through openings in the skin, such as cuts. For example, the person may cough into his or her hand and then touch a doorknob, thus placing the cold virus on that doorknob. The virus can pass the other humans from the doorknob.
Not every bacteria and virus that enters the body don't have to be caused by illness. Our bodies have an immune system and that immune systems are our fighters. Generally, they resist pathogens if the human immune system is healthy. On the contrary, pathogens can adapt and evolve much more quickly than the immune system can, which means that pathogens sometimes have the upper hand when it comes to fooling the body's defenses. In this case, the pathogens gain the upper hand and it becomes difficult for the immune system to respond. Unfortunately, some people have a weak immune system, and as a result of this, they can take diseases easily.
Non-infectious diseases cant pass from person to person and they aren't caused by pathogens. Environmental conditions, human genetics, and human lifestyle can cause for non-infectious diseases. For example, if you smoke too much probably you will be lung cancer. If you consume too much sugar you can be diabetic. Maybe we can't change our genetics but if we care about our lifestyle we can keep away the diseases. If you like the article you can click here to read more.
